FAQ
- How far in advance should I order before the birth (or event)?
We recommend ordering a few days ahead of the event to allow for shipping time – see the Shipping page for current details.
- From what age can Toominutes socks be worn?
They’re designed to cover the first 18 months, with three progressive sizes in the same set – you can gift them from birth, knowing the baby will keep wearing them in the months after.
- Does the gift arrive ready to give, or do I need to wrap it?
The packaging is designed to be part of the gift itself, not just a box: inside you’ll also find a story to read aloud with the baby, meant to become a keepsake.
- How do I pick the right size if I don’t know the baby well?
No guessing needed: every set includes three sizes covering different stages of the first 18 months, so the gift grows with the baby regardless of their exact age or measurements.
- What’s a good baby shower gift?
Something nice to unwrap together but also useful afterwards: sock sets combine the emotional side of gift-giving with real use in the months that follow.
- Gender-neutral or gender-specific gift – which is better?
It depends on how well you know the family. If the baby’s sex isn’t known yet, or you’d rather stay neutral, a gender-neutral set is the safest choice – and still a thoughtful one, not a fallback.
- What’s a useful gift for a newborn?
New parents most appreciate gifts that are practical but thoughtful: pieces the baby will actually wear in the first months, in multiple sizes, without needing to be replaced after a few weeks.
- How do I know if my Toominutes socks are original?
Every pair of Toominutes socks has its own quiet signature: a soft protective sponge inside the sole, heel, and toe, designed to cushion each step; and green stitching details, a gentle mark of identity.
- How can I reduce or remove the bobbles?
Use a fabric shaver or pill remover gently. Wash inside out, on a gentle cycle, low temperature. Avoid overloading the machine and strong detergents. Air-dry or use low heat to reduce agitation.
- Will the bobbles get worse over time
They may appear more in the earlier washes and then stabilize, because the most fragile stray fibers tend to surface early. But you can slow down new pill formation with gentle care
- Is pilling a defect or a sign of poor quality?
Not at all. Pilling is a normal result of friction in natural fabrics. Even high-quality fibers can pill. What matters is how you care for them.
- How should the socks be washed?
Machine wash at 40°C. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry.
Wash with similar colors to keep them bright and true. - Can a single size or color be ordered?
Not for now. Each bundle is made to tell a story through three steps –
growth is part of the concept. - Are the socks unisex?
Yes. Every bundle is curated with a neutral design approach.
Some are softer, some brighter – all are meant to be shared. - What’s inside the box?
Three pairs of Toominutes socks. One card with care instructions. One little story.
All wrapped with intention – from the yarn to the thoughts behind it.
- What sizes are available?
Each bundle includes three pairs in three sizes – 0–3 months, 3–9 months, 9–18 months – designed to follow the rhythm of early growth.
